Good manners can separate you from the rest of the pack

Jay Conrad Levinson, renowned Guerrilla Marketer writes “One of the key personality traits possessed by successful guerrillas is generosity.”

In an article featured in a recent issue of Revenue Magazine titled “Guerrilla Generosity - The gift of giving always comes back around to those that share” Levinson writes “Think of what might attract prospects and make customers happy. Be creative. Be generous. Then, be prepared for a reputation embracing generosity, customer service and sincere caring.”

These words are more important than ever. In a world of hyperaccelerated business, it’s more important than ever to slow down, pause, and reflect on the following question. Why have so many companies forgotten business etiquette and courtesy 101 - [i.e. good manners]?

For example, two simple words “thank you”, are appreciated, [and need to be said more often]. When was the last time you received a hand written note from a friend, colleauge, supplier, or customer that said “thank you” [I appreciate our relationship]? How did the note make you feel?

Everyone appreciates being thanked. We aren’t thanked enough. We need to take more time for sincere caring. We need to say thank you more often.
