TIA and AAA predict that holiday travel this year will increase by 2.2% over 2005. An estimated 64.9 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles from home over the holidays (21.9% of the population) according to the report.
Approximately 52.6 million travelers (81% of all holiday travelers) expect to travel by car, truck, or RV, a 2.1% increase from the 51.5 million who drove a year ago.
