“$7 Secrets” Script is a purple cow

$7 SecretsJonathan Leger, author of $7 Secrets, has created a lot of hype on the Internet over his $7 Secrets report, released in early February. [Great viral marketing strategy!] This is not an Search Engine Optimization strategy, but rather, a short report that delivers information about the psychology and the business strategy behind selling info products for $7.

$7 Secrets is a viral marketing strategy that has real traction in the market. What’s really great about Leger’s strategy lies in this one key idea - Leger delivers real value by providing a script that allows purchasers to quickly create an affiliate sales force  - anyone who purchases the $7 report can quickly turn around and sell it for full price - and they get to keep the $7 for themselves - the money is directly deposited into their own PayPal account immediately.  [Brilliant!]

The price point is right for impulse buyers - you can’t go wrong buying an info product [with great testimonials] for $7 [when some of us spend more than that at Starbucks for a cafe latte and a slice of banana cake]. However, what Mr. Leger doesn’t tell you is that he’s got first mover advantage [he's the guy with the great idea that followed through on execution].

What Mr. Leger has created is a movement of fast followers, individuals and companies trying to copy and capitalize on his great idea for cash. What this creates is confusion in the info product market space because impulse buyers will get burnt. It will only take a few mediocre [and really bad] info products for $7 to all but destroy the cash grab phenomenon by fast followers.

I really feel the $7 dollar marketing concept will change the landscape of high price internet marketing products. I see that John Reese is “clearing out” Traffic Secrets for SEVERAL hundred dollars less and I just bought Mark Hendricks “Grandmaster of ListBuilding” for $47 and it was $497 just last week!

That gives me some great inspiration for increasing my own website.

I don’t agree with you in 100%, but you covered some good points regarding this topic.
