Marketing is about consistency

We’ve seen many great marketing and advertising campaigns that are yanked by over anxious business owners, marketing  managers, and general managers who are looking for a quick fix to increase sales. Unfortunately, many of these campaigns were doomed to fail before they even began. Why? Because when it comes to marketing there are no quick fixes, no secret recipes, no guarantees that your marketing programs will lead to great sales success.

Marketing needs to be consistent. There isn’t one magic bullet.

Marketing needs to be of a variety of well planned strategies that work well together to accomplish your goals and objectives. Not every marketing activity will reap great results. However, if you systematically track and measure the effectiveness of each activity working together in tandem, you can make the necessary modifications to your plan by removing what doesn’t work while spending on new initiatives that support your plan - those activities that are providing your organization with a measurable return on your marketing investment.

We all make marketing mistakes. We make investments that don’t pan out or provide us with the results we were hoping for. That doesn’t mean that we abandon our plan. That means we replace what doesn’t work with better strategies [while learning from our mistakes].

The key to understanding what is working and what’s not - is measurement. Tracking your marketing activities is essential. Creativity and consistency of message are key for building trust and your reputation over time.

So very very true. Planning is such an important part of business, and when overlooked or pushed aside, can have very real..very harsh results in the long run. There is an area in the town I live in that the businesses are on a revolving door … these businesses have this problem because they do not market effectively.
so .. once again, GREAT advice.

Thanks, always good posts on your blog!
