GPS Video Systems offer more than video

GPS Video Systems offer more than just video. Since we often receive questions regarding our GPS Video System and its capabilities we’re taking this opportunity to answer two of our most often asked questions – Does the GPS Video System support audio only? And is it possible to display static images such as historical photographs?

GPS Video Systems enable tourism operators to deliver location based video content to LCD flat panel displays and audio to Public Address (”PA”) Systems.

This means that audio commentary can be used to support the tourism experience independent of any video being displayed on TVs or flat panel displays.  In addition to audio and video, still images or photographs can also be displayed on screen to support the auditory experience. What this means is… tourism operators can display historic photographs on LCD flat panels when audio commentary is being played through a PA system.

GPS Video Systems support:

  • Video
  • Audio and Video
  • Audio Only
  • Static images such as historic photographs, maps, and advertisements
  • Background music between GPS triggers

What this means is, GPS Video systems offer the flexibility to deliver audio experiences supported by supplemental video and static images, including opportunities for next stop announcements, location based advertising, and cross promotional product placements.

For example, one of our partners is using GPS Video Systems to deliver next stop announcements and location based advertising for local tourism attractions and retail partners while a new trolley company is using the system to deliver an audio tour experience while providing supplemental video and historic photographs on flat panel displays as part of a value added customer experience. GPS Video Systems are also being used to deliver scheduled announcements, safety and security information, and passenger entertainment.
